You may ask yourself, “Does chamomile help you sleep…really?”
Does chamomile help you sleep?
It depends. Do you drink chamomile tea because you think it’s supposed to help bore you to sleep?
With Francesca, you can get the relaxation without the drudgery.
Francesca adds the pleasant aroma of organic cinnamon bark and lavender to lull you gently. She has a dash of organic licorice root to sweeten (without the black licorice flavor – no worries about that). These whole herbs and spices are expertly blended with organic Egyptian chamomile creating the perfect blend of sleepy-time goodness.
Here’s what Oana, a happy Francesca sipper, says about this chamomile blend:
“Chamomile has been a staple in my tea ‘wardrobe’ since I was a kid. My grandma used it for everything and she used full blossoms of chamomile, full of fragrance and flavor. I’ve been looking for something that compares even a little bit and I was disappointed with the faintly-flavored teas I could buy even at the fanciest of stores. Then I tried Francesca and I fell in love. Not only it had the same full-bodied sweet flavor I had remembered–it also had the soothing flavor of lavender and spices to enhance the flavor. Try it out! You won’t regret it!”
How do you brew this magical chamomile blend?
First, fill your kettle with fresh filtered water. The water should be about 200 degrees (not quite boiling). So if you boil water, let it cool about 5 minutes before using it to brew.
Next, take out your favorite cup and brewing accessory. (Here are a few of my favorites.)
Then, place two heaping teaspoons of Francesca into your teapot for every 8 ounces (1 cup) of water you’re using.
Let Francesca brew 3-5 minutes depending on your taste.
Strain the chamomile blend out and drift peacefully to sleep. Then you can tell me, does chamomile help you sleep?
Re-brew your chamomile! You can steep each serving at least two more times. Unlike teas or tisanes you may brew from tea bags, loose leaf and whole herbs and spices may be re-brewed multiple times to get all their yummy goodness.
Does chamomile help you sleep…if it’s iced?
You can also get chamomile’s relaxing benefits by brewing it iced!
To brew iced chamomile/Francesca, place 6-10 Tablespoons of chamomile in a regular size jug (this isn’t an exact science – you can’t do this wrong). Place the jug in the fridge and let the blend cold brew for at least an hour. You can’t brew chamomile wrong this way; the cold brew method ensures you don’t over-brew the herbs. This also means that you can place a ton of chamomile in your jug, and it won’t taste bad.
You may want to know “Does chamomile help you sleep?” but you also want to make sure you’re not interfering with treatments you’re undergoing.
If you plan on drinking large amounts of chamomile (or anything), talk to a doctor before starting a new health habit. The FDA hasn’t tested the benefits of chamomile as of the time of this writing.
A special note to you if you have a hormone-sensitive cancer like certain breast cancers, if you’re currently undergoing chemotherapy, or if you take a medication for any illness: Talk to your doctor before consuming any herb – including chamomile. Some herbs contain components that interfere with the absorption of medication and/or stimulate hormones in your body. It’s always best to talk to a doctor before you start a new health habit, but it’s especially important if you’re dealing with these issues.
